Exeter Business Club is proud to support two charities every year and this year they are Balloons and St Loyes

Balloons

balloonsBalloons (Bereavement And Loss LOoking ONwardS) is a charity that provides community-based support for children, young people and their families from Exeter, Mid or East Devon following the death, or before an expected death, of a significant person in their lives, such as a parent, carer or sibling. Few life events have a greater impact on families than the death of a family member, and while life will never be the same again, with help and support children and young people can make a positive and successful transition into adult life.

The charity provides the following services at no cost to users, relying entirely on donations and grants:
• A dedicated phone line and referral service
• Pre- and post-bereavement support and advice for families
• Support and advice for professionals and agencies working with bereaved families
• Training for volunteers
• Training for organisations working with children and young people
• Home visits and group activities
• Loan of resources to families and professionals
• Talks about our service to local groups.

About 1800 children and young people living in Exeter, Mid and East Devon are experiencing the death of someone close to them. Balloons can help and will take account of the emotional, spiritual, social, psychological and physical needs of the families and young people they support.

St Loye's Foundation

stloyesSt Loye’s Foundation is a national charity and service provider, based in Exeter, Devon for over 75 years. We also have satellite offices in Warrington, Cardiff and North Devon.

We specialise in helping people with health, disability and social issues by providing a range of services, including Employment Training, Care and Support and Learning and Skills. Across all these services individuals are given the support and practical knowledge they need to access employment. St Loye’s utilises a ‘person centred’ approach where the support is focused on an individuals specific needs, whilst ensuring, where required, a realistic employment goal.
